FOOTBALL GAME AT THE SCHOOL FRIDAY NITE: We will meet at the school on Friday nite... The school will be open starting at 4:30 if you would like to walk thru the school.

"Gloria – Do you have any idea how may people will be coming to the game on Friday, September 5? I want to have drinks -water and cokes for everyone. I was planning to start in the cafeteria. I will have some old Talons and trophies for people to peruse. People can walk around the main building to see how things have changed and then we will walk to the gym and see all of the renovations. Is there anything else you would like to do or see? The high school gate ( off of 1604) should open around 4:30pm -11pm. Tell everyone that that is the only way to get to the highs school. We are closed off from the base during football games.

The football game starts at 7:30 pm. Hopefully, enough of us will get there so we can save some space for all of us to sit with each other. Wear something to identify yourself so we will recognize you as "one of us". We are supposed to be recognized during the half time in some way. It may just be announced over the intercom that we are in the stands. Then if we are still awake after the game we can head over to Lake McQueeney for a dance. I will try to have maps printed out to hand out at the game. I'm trying to prepare some kind of map to copy to put on the blog to the Lodge and also to Marty and Jeff's house.

DANCE AFTER THE GAME FRIDAY NITE: Jackie Greene Muir has offered us an invitation to a dance that will be going on at the Ski Lodge at Lake McQueeney on Friday nite after the game (if you go to the football game at the school). She thought we all might be interested in coming. Here is the information she sent me about the dance. This is not included in any of the other Reunion events we already have scheduled and you must contact Jackie to RSVP. I asked her if anyone could come at the spur of the minute and she said to see "Buzz" at the Lodge when you get there to arrange a "cash ticket". Of course, all of Jackie's information is listed below - call her for directions too:

HOTELS IN THE AREA IF YOU ARE STILL LOOKING: Here are the hotels in the immediate area of the reunion. These hotels are located in New Braunfels on I-35. I have no clue if they are any good but most of them are new.

LaQuinta is located on 46 on the East side of I-35. On the other side of the highway there is a Holiday Inn. The new ones are Comfort Suites, Best Western and Quality Inn... there is also a Roadway Inn and a Motel 6 and a Days Inn. I have talked with the owner of Lake Breeze Ski Lodge, Lake McQueeney.MEMBERS ONLY. He still has rooms available for 9/5-9/7…. Houston scoops them up!!!! The rooms are basic 2double beds, $105night. There are wonderful amenities, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, tennis courts, boats for hire for ski pulls, cruises. We would be able to do the Sunday breakfast there… must reserve ASAP for the Lodge (830)557-5736. Located on Ski Lodge Road, @ 3miles from Lindley off FM725, & @ 2miles from Bandit golf course…. Hope this helps..Anything else? Planning for this must be done ASAP, New Braunfels & McQueeney are destination resort areas & the snow birds love us as well as Houston. Rooms are booked well in advance.

September 6th - golf and whatever during the day and PARTY IN THE EVENING
September 7th - ????

I received this note from Marty Lindley (wife of Jeff Lindley '66):

"We would love to host the reunion this year at our home on Lake Dunlap, in New Braunfels. BBQ, music, libations, lots of things to do at our home... boating, canoeing, fishing, swimming, volleyball, yard games, baseball, horse shoes, etc... and close by is golfing, shopping, Schlitterbahn Water Park, Gruene Historic District, tubing on the Comal River... great family vacation time... we could make it a several day event.

Parking is not a problem and we can accommodate a lot of people... lots of bathrooms.

Anyway, I would enjoy helping you plan the event and make it really special and memorable. Have worked on several major events in New Braunfels... so would be great to use years of accumulated resources in helping you get the Randolph group together again. Wewer and Kathy said they will come and I know they would love to help... and the guys I'm sure will want to help also... right? Madsen, Monahan, Coggins, Pitzer, Norton, Donaldson, Lindley.. all in the name of golf. "
